At our wrap up hangout on ‘Demystifying Awakening’ on Sunday, we talked briefly about cross-calibrating the Vajrayana bhūmi map (which was not in the book) with the Zen and Theravada maps. An initial pass at this cross mapping is presented for the continued development of this thread:

                        Buddhist Maps
Zen                    Theravada (Path)    Vajrayana (Bhūmi)
Kenshō                       1                          1
                                                             2
                                2                          3
                                                             4
Satori                                                      5
                                                             6
                               3                           7
Daigo-tettei               4                           8 (vajra body)
                                                            9
                                                           10

The most fluid cross mapping is for satori, because of the subjective definition as “51% or more of consciousness opens to the Absolute realm”. Without further specificity, it’s hard to pin down precisely and instead of pegging it to 5th bhūmi, you could make an equally good argument for 4th or 6th bhūmi.
